Our Capital Campaign

At Special Needs Schools of Gwinnett in Lawrenceville, Georgia,
we are raising money to build our students and staff the facility they deserve!


Four Capital Development Phases

Phase 1
Construction of a sewer line to replace the existing septic tanks.
This was completed in January 2018.

Phase 2
Construction of a school building that houses 7 classrooms, two therapy rooms, offices, a kitchen, lunchroom, and lobby/reception area.

Phase 3
Constructing a multi-purpose building and activities room that will accommodate therapy treatment, physical education activities, school program activities, and community events.

Phase 4
Construction of an additional 13 classrooms growing the School‘s capacity to 200 students.

Special Needs Schools of Gwinnett

At Special Needs Schools of Gwinnett, we serve students with a range of disabilities, students other schools have given up on, students who often have nowhere else to go. Many of our graduates have gone to college, entered the workforce, and become productive members of our community. We succeed because our teachers understand our students and know how to tailor an individual education approach for each one, an approach that works.

We currently own property in suburban Atlanta, and we operate out of aging homes and trailers on that property. We are raising funds to build a facility that meets our students’ needs. With our capital building campaign, we will grow from the 60 students we serve to 200 and become a national model, proving students with developmental disabilities can learn, thrive, and achieve their goals and dreams.
